UWB
Ultra Wideband or UWB is a radio technology that can be used for short-range high-bandwidth wireless communications. The technology is based on transmitting very-short-duration pulses, instead of continous waves, whereby the occupied bandwidth goes to very large values (usually over 500 MHz). This results in favourable propagation conditions which enable the technology to deliver data rates in excess of 100 Mbit/s. This technology has a low power consumption and operates in the frequency reange of 3.1 - 10.6 GHz without producing any significant interfienrence. This technology is ideal for PANs (Pearsonal Area Networks).
